Alan Havlick, 75, Two Harbors, died Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Aspirus-St. Luke’s Hospital.
Born December 15, 1949 to Leslie and Agnes (Listerude) Havlick in Minneapolis, he grew up in Richfield before the family moved to Two Harbors to operate Big Noise Bar. Al graduated in the Class of ’67 then enlisted in the US Navy, serving in Iceland. Returning to Two Harbors, Al was employed at Abex Fiberglas, then Northstar Steel, before joining WLSSD in 1985 where he continued for 30 years until his retirement in 2015.
He was a member of the American Legion and served on the Alden Township Fire Department for 14 years and as a township supervisor for a number of years.
Al met the love of his life, Jacqueline Schaefer in October 1980, and and they married June 27, 1981. Al enjoyed fly-fishing, hunting, his Harley, camping trips with the family, and especially time with his grandkids.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Sharon Swan; and a brother, Larry Swan.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jackie; sons Scott (Jen), Cody (Amber), and Ian (Anne Brakke); grandchildren Allison, Logan, Slade, and Temperance; great-granddaughter, Kaleah; sister-in-law, Glenna Swan; faithful companion, Paisley; and a very large extended family.
A Celebration of Al’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at the American Legion from 12 Noon until 4 PM.
