Aleta Jean (Morrill) Johnson passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2022 in her home while bravely battling cancer. She was born in Morrisville, Vermont on July 9th 1956 to Jack Morrill and Catherine Morrill. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Ray Johnson. Sons Kevin Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Jesse (Isabel) Johnson, Chris (Amy) Johnson. Grandchildren Victoria Johnson, Kevin Johnson Jr, Jesse Johnson Jr, Sean Dugas-Johnson, Mya Dugas-Johnson, Evelyn Dugas-Johnson. All who she loved very much. Sister Angela (Rob) Morrill and brother Curtis Morrill. Many many close friends. Aleta was preceded in death by both of her parents, her brother R. Donald Morrill II ("Donnie"), and a grandchild, Ethan James Johnson. A special thank you to her close friend Wendy Danielson for her help and support.
Aleta had many different hobbies and enjoyed many different things about life. One of her loves was her horses that her and her family cared for at their home years ago. Especially 'Princess', who she thought about often. Aleta also enjoyed sitting outside around a firepit with family, watching hummingbirds, gardening, and going to car shows. Her 1978 Firebird Formula 400 was a love of hers and won many trophies including 'Best of Show' and '1st in Class' multiple times. That was a hobby she enjoyed with her husband. Her with her Firebird, him with his Mustang. Their bond was like no other. A love that flourished starting in their teen years and blossomed into this amazing thing that lasted with Ray at her side up until her last breath. Our hearts break as we lose Aleta but we smile knowing that she felt a love here on Earth that some may never know.
Aleta worked in Two Harbors at McDonalds for 20 years. Many people knew her as the smiling face they'd see whether they were walking in or driving through. Aleta also ran a daycare out of her home for many years where she took so much pride in being able to say that she cared and loved so many children. Those children, now adults, all still remember and would greet her fondly.
She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. We hope you all remember her and smile. Laugh at the memories you have (because she left many of us with some very hilarious ones!), but more than anything, remember that she loved SO much. And to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Living Waters Fellowship in Two Harbors.
