Arlene Loeffert

Arlene Loeffert, 86, passed away at Ecumen Scenic Shores Care Center in Two Harbors with her daughter at her side on Friday, December 18, 2015.

She was born December 3, 1929 to Edward and Thelma (Case) Hetland in Clarissa, MN.  She was the oldest of four children raised on a farm in Eagle Bend.  She married William (Bill) Loeffert on October 3, 1950 in St. Cloud.  They lived in Grand Rapids, where Debby was born and moved to Silver Bay in August of 1953 and to Two Harbors February of 1954. Arlene was a housewife for 51 years and a bookkeeper for their family milk distributing business on the North Shore for 40 years.  After retirement, she drove cars for Sonju’s for 15 years.  She also enjoyed reading, gardening, camping, crocheting, and spending time with her family.  As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she had a very strong faith and belief in the Creator and loved sharing it with others.  It was a very important part of her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and a brother, Leo.

Arlene is survived by her daughter and best friend Debby; sister, Myrna, and brother Jerry; and several nieces, nephews, their families, and so many special friends.

Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015 with Delmar Peterson officiating at Hunter’s Park Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 4602 Arrowhead Rd. in Duluth.
