Carroll Nygaard

Carroll M. Nygaard, 85, formerly of Duluth, died Sunday, December 11, 2016 in Two Harbors, where he had lived for the past four years.
Carroll was born on July 5, 1931 to Carl M. and Alma C. (Ausland) Nygaard in Drake, North Dakota. He grew up there and later in Brainerd where he graduated from high school. He attended technical school in Duluth and moved to Minneapolis to work as a draftsman. Returning to Duluth in 1969, he was employed as a mechanical engineer at Reach-All Manufacturing until his retirement in 2005.
Carroll enjoyed the outdoors – hunting and fishing. He was a supporter of the Boy Scouts and the Civil Air Patrol.
Carroll was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arthur; a sister,Orel; and his wife, Dorothy,
He is survived by a son, Craig (Jackie) Nygaard of Springfield, Virginia; and a granddaughter, Patricia Nygaard.
Services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Sunrise Memorial Park Chapel in Hermantown.
