Catherine A. Sumner, 71, of Two Harbors, Minnesota, died peacefully on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at her home.

Cathy was born to Robert M. and Lucile (Wetzstein) Cresap on July 16, 1950 in Berwyn, Illinois where she grew up and attended schools.  She was employed for many years as a nursing assistant before moving to Two Harbors in May of 2006.

Cathy was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and served both in its MOPS and VBS programs.  Her love of the Lord was most important in her life and it was her wish that her entire family would come to know the Lord.

She was very creative and enjoyed making crafts and giving them as gifts.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mary, Jack, and Rita.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Steve; children, Mark (Beth) Doty and Shanin (Brad) Loesche; step-children, Joanne (John) Koenig, Carl (Elizabeth) Sumner, and Catherine Sumner; grandchildren, Lauren, Braedon, Thomas, Jacob, Natalie, Tim, Kaya, Keaton, and Daniel; great-granddaughter, Layla; and brother, Michael (Linda) Cresap.

Memorials are preferred to Essentia Health Foundation-Ronald McDonald House. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, August 2, 2021, at Silver Creek Cemetery. To share your memories or condolences online please visit www.cavallinfuneralhome.com.
