David B. Magnuson, aged 71, of Duluth, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, at The North Shore Estates.
Born on April 16, 1954, to Burt and Frances (Prebil) Magnuson in Two Harbors, David grew up in the area and attended local schools. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee from 1972 until 1976. Following his military service, he returned to Minnesota, where he was employed as a well-driller in Virginia for several years before relocating to Duluth, where he started a family and worked in the foundry in Gary New Duluth.
David embraced the motorcycle lifestyle with passion and enthusiasm, making yearly trips to Sturgis a beloved tradition. His mechanical skill was widely recognized; he possessed the ability to fix anything and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burt and Frances Magnuson.
David is survived by his daughters, Katie (Brian) Hill and Jennie (Nathan) Benjamin; five grandchildren, Scotti, Lucy, Beau, Soren, and Sawyer; his sisters, Mary (Robert) Mauss and Ann (Ritchie) Raycraft; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 PM until 3 PM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors. Burial will follow in the veteran’s section of Lakeview Cemetery.
