Delores (Ojard) Lassonde 85, of Two Harbors received her heavenly wings on December 17th, 2021, surrounded by her family at the Barross Cottage after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
Delores was born October 18th, 1936 in Duluth, Minnesota to William and Dorothy Ojard and grew up in Knife River, Minnesota. She married Phillip Lassonde in 1955 and together they raised their daughters in Two Harbors, Minnesota. Delores worked at The Style Shop, Carlson’s Apparel and Bonnie’s Clothes Bar and for many years she and Phil were the custodians at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was very diligent in her responsibility in caring for the Lord’s house.
Delores enjoyed home remodeling and decor, flowers and plants, and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. She loved watching the beauty of Lake Superior and spent many hours at the breakwall watching the boats.
Delores is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister-in-law, Lois Boen.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Phillip, daughters, Wanda (Donald) Eggebrecht, Eden Prairie, MN, Brenda (Gary) Claflin, Two Harbors, and Lynda (Robert) Norlen, Two Harbors. Sisters, Annette (Donald) Ruud, San Anselmo, CA, Judy (Frank) Bernhardt, Knife River, MN and brother, Steven (Char) Ojard, Knife River, MN. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren, Matthew (Hannah) Eggebrecht, Alyse (Curtis) Simondet, Luke (Darci) Claflin, Zach (Claire) Claflin, Jake Claflin, Michael (Heather) Norlen and David (Elsa) Norlen. She also found great joy in her great grandchildren, Ryan, Calli, Cade, Emmit, Signe, Britta, Odin, Henrik and one more to come this summer. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Tom (Mary) Lassonde and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank the Lakeview Memorial Hospital staff. Special thanks to Cindy and Todd, and the wonderful staff of the Barross Cottages both on 13th and South Avenue.
