Donna Schroeder

May 9, 1933 — June 23, 2015

Donna Schroeder, 82, of Two Harbors, died Tuesday June 23, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital under hospice care with her family at her side.

She was born May 9, 1933 on the family farm in Bejou, MN to Olai and Agnes (Lee) Motteberg.  Donna graduated from high school in Gary, MN and was married to Charles Schroeder on November 28, 1950.  They worked farming for a short time before moving to Two Harbors in 1954.  Donna worked at home while her children were young before going to work as a doctor’s assistant at McBride Chiropractic for 25 years.  After retiring, she worked as a hospitality host for the Two Harbors Information Center and also volunteered as a home health aide.

Donna was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and more recently  Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church.  Throughout the years, she was a member of many church circles and Bible studies.

She enjoyed woodcarving, baking, cooking, gardening, and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Her house was known for the closet of surprise gifts her grandchildren and great-grandchildren got to choose from when they came over.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Alden Motteberg.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles; children, Rosita Lindgren of Fargo, ND, Pam (Sven) Bergerson of Two Harbors, and  Rob (Lori) Schroeder of Two Harbors; grandchildren, Erick (Amy), Ryan (Sandy), John, Casey (Kristin), Christina, and Jake; 15 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Leatrice and Pauly.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM until the 5 PM funeral service on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors.
