Dorothy Anderson

Dorothy E. Anderson, 91, of Duluth Township, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 12, 2022 after a brief illness, surrounded by loving family members.

Dorothy was born October 17, 1930 to Ingvald and Mabel (Soreng) Sande in Two Harbors.  She grew up in Larsmont until she married John Anderson, and they built their home in Two Harbors where they lived and raised their family.  A faithful Christian lady who lived a great life and left an even better legacy in her family with many memories of parties, camping trips, and worldwide travel.  Dorothy was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors where she was a Sunday School teacher and part of the choir.  She was also a 4-H leader, food shelf volunteer and a member of Harbor Mates and the Red Hat Society.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John of 52 years; a brother, David; her son, Michael; and a grandson, Jerry.

She is survived by her daughters, Marit (Tom) Wright, Jackie (Al) Gerard and Amy (Jeff) Cavallin; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Anderson; grandchildren, Jason (Karen), Andrew (Cari), and Jim (Becky) Wright, Gina (Brian) Privette, Tricia (Joel) Kuchta, Christine (Corey) Koenig, John Anderson, Brian (Kelly) and Rick (Kate) Smith, Dorothy (Andrew) Lopez, Nathan (Nicole) and Dustin (Meghan) Cavallin; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother; Lloyd Sande; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1 PM until the 2 PM service on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery.
