Duane M. Nerlien

Duane M. Nerlien, 64, of Silver Bay, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 15, 2024 at his home.

Duane was born September 2, 1960 to Donald and Carol (Brown) Nerlien in Minneapolis and grew up there and in Sheyenne, North Dakota. He married Debra in 2005 and they made their home in East Bethel for many years, while he operated a tire business in North Minneapolis. He and Debra moved to Silver Bay in 2020.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, snowmobiling, pool, 4-wheeling and tinkering. Most recently his greatest joy was watching his grandchildren in their various sporting activities.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Dale and Richard.

He is survived by his wife, Debra; children, Kara (Jim) Williams, and Cale Chapman; grandchildren, Cash, Macoy, Cayson, and Cayden; and siblings, Keith Nerlien, Kay (Julie) Nerlien, Jodi Cooper, and Robert (Kathy) Nerlien.
