Edwin Dettwiler

Edwin Dettwiler, 90, of Two Harbors, died Monday, March 30, 2015 at Lake View Memorial Hospital in Two Harbors.
He was born December 10, 1924 to Edwin O. and Della (Cox) Dettwiler in Huron, South Dakota. Ed Grew up in Huron, and later moved to western Minnesota. He served in the US Army from 1942-1946 in Europe and Asia, and moved to Two Harbors in 1951. He was self-employed as a carpenter-contractor until retiring in 1994.
Ed was a member of First Baptist Church in Two Harbors, and enjoyed bowling and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, and several brothers and sisters.
Ed is survived by a son, Larry (Cindy) South of Two Harbors; daughters Rita (Cal) Pierce and Gayle Ostman of Two Harbors, Shirley Staley of Tolono, Ill; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the 1 PM service on Thursday April 2, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
