October 19, 1930 — September 5, 2022

Two Harbors

Florence “Marion” Johnson passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 5th.  Marion was born on October 19, 1930, to Gust and Esther Gustafson in Two Harbors, Minnesota.  She was married to her high school sweetheart, Weldon A. Johnson, for 63 years.  Together they built Weldon’s Gift Shop in 1963. For many years Marion operated the Gift Shop, at times for 7 days a week, until her health declined.  She was a hard worker by not only working in the Gift Shop but by cooking meals for the family and babysitting grandchildren.  One of her favorite things that she enjoyed was getting together with her THHS classmates of 1949.  Marion was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Two Harbors.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Weldon; and brother, Eugene Gustafson.

She is survived by her sisters, Helen Olsvik of Two Harbors and Violet Smalley of Bemidji, Minnesota and sister-in-law, Gwenne Gustafson of Two Harbors.  Marion is survived by her daughters, Colleen (Larry) Saur and Linda Johnson; her son, Mark W. (Doreen) Johnson; grandchildren: Christopher Saur, Andrew (Angel) Saur, Amy Saur (Patrick) Budion, Melissa (Adam) Gertken, Amanda (Cory) Lundgren, and Nicholas Johnson; great-grandchildren: Annika Saur, Jack Budion, Luciana Budion, Charlotte Budion, Harlow Lundgren, Odin Gertken, Octavia Gertken, and another great-grandchild expected in February; and many nieces and nephews.

Marion’s family would like to thank Lake View Hospital and Medical Clinic and St. Luke’s Hospice for the compassionate care Marion received.

No services are planned.

Memorials are preferred to be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 601 4th Ave., Two Harbors, MN 55616, St. Luke’s Hospice, 220 North 6th Ave. East, Duluth, MN 55805, or Lake County Humane Society, 415 20th Ave., Two Harbors, MN 55616.
