Gertrude "Gert" Lamo

Gert Lamo, 93, of Two Harbors died Thursday, June 6, 2019 surrounded by her family at Ecumen Scenic Shores in Two Harbors.

She was born on September 17, 1925 to Gustav and Thora (Carlsen) Kragseth in Two Harbors, where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1943.  During her marriage to Jim Erickson they raised five children in Knife River. Later, Gert and her husband, Harold Lamo owned and operated the Korner Store for many years.

Gert was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, and was a lifetime member of Sons of Norway. She enjoyed traveling with Harold, especially their winters in Yuma, AZ and the many trips she took with the Harbor Mates.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Lamo; son, Alan Erickson; brother, Herbert “Bud” Kragseth; great-grandson, Gabe Johnson; great-granddaughters, Allison Wade and Brittney Carlisle; and son-in-law, Jon Jacoby.

Gert is survived by her daughters, Lanette Jacoby, Nancy (Paul) Jones, Karen (Dale) Wick all of Two Harbors, and Luanne Carlisle of Boulder City, NV; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; step-children Jerry and Steve Lamo, Pam (Brad) Reitan, and Linda; and a daughter-in-law, Kay Erickson.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Living Waters Fellowship in Two Harbors.  Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
