Silver Bay

Helen Beatrice Robinson, 91, of Silver Bay, met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ face to face on Thursday, June 18, 2026. She passed peacefully at home.

Helen loved the Lord and spent her life being an example of Christian principles. Her heart's desire is that everyone would come to know her Jesus.

Helen was born September 30, 1934 to Guy and Beatrice (Barnstable) Hill in Rice Lake, WI. She grew up and graduated high school in Chetek, WI.

Helen fell in love and married the handsome, fun-loving, hilarious, singing redhead, Malvin Robinson, in Chetek on her 18th birthday. He was a lucky man. She and Malvin were blessed with six fun loving children.

After farming in Wisconsin for a few years, the young family moved to Silver Bay in 1956. Helen and Malvin lived in Silver Bay the rest of their lives.

She was a longtime member of Palisade Baptist Church, where she served as part of the Ladies Guild and as a Sunday School teacher. Helen was committed to bringing kids to Camp Lebanon Bible camp beginning in 1957, even before her own children were old enough to attend. Four generations of her family have enjoyed many years at this "Meeting Place with God"... her legacy continues. She was a speaker and board member of Christian Women's Club for many years. Helen was instrumental in her family's annual participation with Samaritan's Purse, Operation Christmas Child. She enjoyed a life full of service. Her family and friends were blessed by her generous talents of knitting, crocheting, sewing, baking, canning and gardening. Her caramel rolls were enjoyed by many.

As she was known by many as LIGHTNING, Helen lived an active and adventurous life that included snowmobiling, cross country skiing, planting 1000's of trees in Lake County, golfing, bowling, fastpitch softball, camping, fishing and traveling with family and friends. She traveled to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. A sunny beach and a seafood feast were her Happy Place. After running a full Grandma's Marathon at age 59, running a half and three 5Ks, she enjoyed volunteering for many years. As she was not one to stop, she went ziplining at 85, horseback riding at 80.

When her children were young, Helen was a cub scout and girl scout leader, she enjoyed children and was blessed with the title of "Mom" to many. She was known to start many a water fight at home, inside or out...depending on the need at the time!

After retirement, they spent over 25 winters in Alamo TX at Bibleville Conference Center, involved in mission work through Rio Grande Bible Institute.

Helen was proceeded in death by her husband of 69 years, Malvin, her parents, in-laws Elmer and Annie Robinson, son-in-law, Paul Pearson, brother Harry Hill, sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Kennard Sandmire, sisters-in-law Ethel Voight-Jerome, Dorothy Atwood, Violet Franklin, Margie Robinson, and Genevieve Ganske, brothers-in-law, Art Voight, Wally Jerome, Bud Atwood, Don Franklin, Stewart Robinson, Marvin Robinson, Jerry Ganske, Rodney Olson, and Robert Unbehaun, as well as too many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her six children; Barbara (Gary) Hamilton, Duane (Julie) Robinson, Carol Pearson, Judy (Dean) Carter, Jean (John) Banks, Rebecca (Kody) Kofstad, 17 grandchildren; Krista, Dillon, Jason, Guy, Chad, Bryson, Annie, Jill, Jenny, Lyndsay, Kari, Lacey, Angie, Larry, McKenzie, Spencer and Taylor; 35 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law; Ardis Hill, Sharon Robinson, Marlyce Olson, Margret (Lance) Lyon, Donna Unbehaun, Charlotte (Gary) Muerman, Buddy (Marlys) Robinson; as well as her friend of 85 years, Betty Newman.
