Irma Labelle

Irma V. LaBelle 99, of Two Harbors, died March 27, 2015 at the Barross House in Two Harbors.

Irma was born July 15, 1915 in Harnosand, Sweden, and raised by Einar and Agnes (Hoving) Norell.  She came to America with her family at the age of 9 years.  Irma resided in Duluth and later moved to Two Harbors and Silver Bay, while raising her family.  Irma was a homemaker through the years and a member of Vasa, and Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Two Harbors where she was active in its Mary Martha Circle, Piecemakers Quilters Group, and Sunday school.  She was a former member of Knife River Valley Club, Sychar Lutheran Church, Silver Bay, VFW Auxiliary, and the Loyal Order of Moose.  Irma enjoyed baking especially her Swedish cinnamon rolls, fishing for walleye in Canada, traveling, curling, and golfing.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gust Norell and Sven Hoving; sister, Martha Bodin; first husband, Archie Kresal; second husband, Arvid F. Johnson and third husband Albert LaBelle; step-son, Alan LaBelle; and great-grandson, Jacob Anthony.

Irma is survived by her son, Donald (Colleen) Kresal; daughters, Karen (Arlan) Anthony; and Diane (Tom) Kucinski; step sons and daughters, Jeanette Pocrnich, Barbara (Richard) Donahue, Laura LaBelle and Philip LaBelle; brother, Clyde (Sue) Norell; sister, Karin Soderberg; grandchildren, Todd Kresal, Randy (Sheri) Kresal, Rick (Mary) Anthony, Kevin (Dana) Anthony, Nicole (Matt) Dearborn, Sarah (Dan) Rentschler, Joseph and Katie Kucinski, Jill (Steve) Jordan, Beth (Karen) LaBelle, Stephen, David, and Michael Pocrnich, and Dan and Kelly Donahue; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Colleen, Megan, Hunter, Brooke, Luke, Audrey, Reagan, Ethan, Gretchen, Mark, Ashley Ann, Ashley Nicole, Kyle, Cullen, Tess, Clara, Liem, Maggie, Gary, Noah, Abby, Anna, William, Isaac, Bryce, Jessie, and Tawny; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM Memorial Service Wednesday, April 1st 2015, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Two Harbors.  Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or the Two Harbors Area Food Shelf.
