James F. Berrill

James (Jim) F. Berrill, 78, of Silver Bay, MN was born on August 11, 1947 in Chicago and passed away on June 28, 2026 at Waterview Shores after a long illness.

Jim grew up in Downers Grove, IL and graduated from North High School and Northwestern University in Evanston, IL with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He enjoyed his work at Honeywell and Baxter International in Round Lake, IL and was awarded patents that he worked toward. When he moved up north to the North Shore of Lake Superior, he worked for nine years at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Duluth before his illness.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Emma Berrill and his brother, Richard Berrill.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Kasner; brother-in-law, David (Sara-ann) Kasner; sister-in-law, Marilyn Berrill; and three nephews, Richard Jr. (Jill), Daniel, and Joseph (Tanya) and their two daughters, Madelyn and Addison.
