Two Harbors

Jane L. Krause, 96, of Two Harbors, died Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

She was born on April 23, 1929 to Alan and Julia (Peterson) Cox in Dearborn, Michigan, and moved to Duluth as a child, where she grew up on Park Point and attended Central High School. As a young lady she was employed at Minnesota Woolen, sewing wool clothes and jackets. There she met her future husband, Allen Krause, who was working his way through college. After their marriage Jane and Al lived in Floodwood for a short time before moving to Two Harbors.

Jane enjoyed sewing, canning the produce from her garden, berry-picking, baking, cooking, and raising her daughters and their family pets. In her later years she enjoyed spending winters in Florida with Al.

Jane was a member of Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Altar Guild, and funeral committee, and HarborMates.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Marion Fitzpatrick; a sister, Marguerite Larson; a daughter, Diane Marie Krause; and just four weeks ago her husband of 74 years, Allen Krause.

Jane is survived by her daughters, Mary (Paul) Solberg, Nancy (Bob) Jenkins, Patty (Will) Hagglund, and Melissa (Mike) Oldsberg; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
