Jessica Lee Kempffer, 46, of Two Harbors passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Lake View Memorial Hospital.
Jessica was born August 31, 1979 in Two Harbors and was baptized at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Her sons were her life! She loved to fish and hunt-and always held bragging rights for the first to bag and tag a deer. She also enjoyed bingo, cribbage, and poker. Her passions were the Minnesota Vikings and especially the Minnesota Wild. She loved others, sometimes too much, and would help anyone in need, but preferred to work behind the scenes and out of the limelight. She loved fiercely and full of empathy. Her gift of giving continues even in her death as a tissue donor though LifeSource.
In addition to being a mother, she cherished being an auntie to her many nieces and nephews. She was known to provide lots of sugar and teach naughty tricks. She also enjoyed her adventures with her Aunt Sue, and childhood friend, Jessie Dewey.
Jess thrived as a member of the Moose Lodge in Two Harbors, and served for the past nine years as Lodge Administrator. She took great pride in the membership growth and many awards and accolades attesting to her accomplishments.
Jessica was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kenneth and Betty Kempffer, and Patrick and Constance Robison; aunt, Pamela Fuentes; and recently her little sister, Drēa Scribner.
She is survived by her greatest joy in life - her sons, Trent and Orion Carlson; her father, Kerry (Anne) Kempffer; her mother, Penny (Mike) Burton; brothers, Eric (Jessica) Kempffer, Chuck (Kristy) Burton, and Kyle Thompson; brother-in-law, Brian Scribner; the father of her sons, Jeff Carlson; and many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 2 PM until the 3 PM memorial service on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors. A further celebration of life for those unable to join us now, will be held on June 20, 2026 when she and her sister Drēa will be buried together at Lakeview Cemetery in Two Harbors.
