Two Harbors

 

John N. Cox, 76, Two Harbors, passed away peacefully on Monday September 4, 2023, at Lake View Hospital. 

 

John was born to Samuel and Elizabeth (Ebert) Cox on October 18, 1946, in Two Harbors where he grew up. After he graduated from high school in 1964, John worked at J C Campbell Lumber, then entered the Air Force in 1966. He was stationed at McCord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Washington and was discharged as a Staff Sgt in 1969. Returning to Two Harbors, he worked at Anderson Auto Body, then attended vocational school in Duluth for training as an accountant. He was employed at Goldfine’s in Duluth for several years, and later worked for Lake County in various positions.

 

John was a member of 4-H and entered his heifers and vegetable crops at the county fair.

 

He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, fast cars, and collecting agates and crystals. He was also a master “fix-it” man.

 

John was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Sherman, and a sister Joan Melendez.

 

He is survived by aunt, Roxanna (Vernon) Nelson; nieces, a nephew, cousins, and special friends, Robin, and Sherri.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

 

Visitation will be from 1:30 until 2:30 on Friday, September 22, 2023, followed by a Graveside Service with military honors at 3 PM at Lakeview Cemetery in Two Harbors. To share your memories or condolences online please visit www.cavallinfuneralhome.com.
