Joyce Hagen

Joyce Hagen, 99, of Grand Marais died Sunday, February 1, 2026 at North Shore Health.

She was born November 24, 1926 to Martin and Flossie (Woodard) Jacobsen in Hovland and was a lifelong resident of Cook County. She married Reynold Hagen on October 16, 1948. Joyce worked as a cook for over thirty years at the school, and in her free time, enjoyed reading and baking.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Reynold in 2009; and a grandson, Jeffrey Houglum in 2004.

She is survived by a daughter, Beth Houglum; a son, Warren Hagen; grandchildren, Gretchen and John Houglum; four great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Poplar Grove Cemetery.
