Silver Bay

Joyce LeGeault

6/30/1939 - 10/9/26

In Loving Memory

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, Joyce lived her life with quiet strength, humility, and grace. Reserved and fairly stoic by nature, she showed her love in the simple, lasting ways that mattered most—through her devotion to her family, her steady presence, and the life she shared with those around her.

Joyce shared 66 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, AJ. They met at the Saxon Wisconsin County Fair in August of 1956, married in 1959, and began their life together in Silver Bay, Minnesota. She took great pride in the family they created and was a devoted mother to their three children, Cindy, Tammy, and Greg.

When Reserve Mining Company closed in 1987, Joyce and AJ moved to Hastings, Minnesota. But Silver Bay remained home in their hearts, and they eventually returned to their cherished hometown to enjoy their retirement years. They spent their winters in Mission, Texas, where they built another wonderful community of friends, laughter, and good times.

Joyce was fortunate to enjoy many travels throughout her life, creating memories and experiencing places and people along the way. At home, she found joy in painting, sewing, decorating cakes, and playing cards and mahjong with her many friends. If you were especially lucky, you got to enjoy one of her many delicious homemade desserts or home cooked meals.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, AJ; her children, Cindy and husband Grant, Tammy and husband Donny, and Greg and wife Debbie; and her grandchildren, Royce, Paige, Chad, Bailey, Jack, Josie, and Julia.

For three years, we walked through the heartbreaking path of the “long goodbye” with Alzheimer’s. While the disease slowly faded her memories and took her away from us in pieces, we find comfort in knowing that she is now free from the weight of this disease, her mind restored, and her spirit at peace. We will carry her love with us always.

Joyce’s legacy lives on in the family she loved, the memories she created, the friendships she cherished, and the quiet example she gave of a life well lived.

In keeping with Joyce’s wishes, her celebration of life and services will be held alongside those of her beloved husband, AJ, whenever that time may come.
