Keith Esse’s independent spirit in life was present within minutes of his passing suddenly from complications of esophageal cancer on August 3rd. He was 66 years old.
Keith found peace and contentment traveling in places like Montana where he attended college, out West exploring slot canyons and historic sites with his family, and home outside Two Harbors where he built his family's house.
Many of the decisions he made in life were centered around his value of protecting our natural environment. The activities he enjoyed were quiet, clean ones like biking, skiing, walking with his dog, canoeing, reading about history, adding to his bird list, and listening to the Twins games on the radio. But he liked his music loud and his tastes in music were broad.
Keith is survived by his wife Tracy Gilsvik, daughter Claire Esse, sisters Gail Trygstad and Maureen Brenner, nieces and nephews and their children, and his cousins.
Join family and friends for a simple open-house style gathering for coffee and conversation Sunday, October 13 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Cedar Coffee in Two Harbors.
