Kim Heide

September 18, 1961 — June 11, 2016

Kim Arnold Heide, 54, passed away June 11, 2016, in Fort Myers, Fla., due to complications of cancer.

Known to friends as "Kimmer," he was born in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Sept. 18, 1961, to loving parents Marvin and Margaret Heide.

Kim attended Proctor High School and was certified as an orthotics and prosthetics technician. He worked in Duluth, Minn., Wichita, Kan., Springfield and Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. He would move back to Duluth before living his last years in Cape Coral, Fla.

Kim was a talented mechanic, artist, and boatsman. He was proud of the classic boats, motorcycles, and cars that he restored in his meticulously maintained garages. His craftsmanship was revealed under the hood of each project.Kim loved traveling, exploring history, and spending time with his family members, whom he loved.

Kim is survived by his wife, Margie Giacomini of Cape Coral; his four children: Jessica (Brian) Schmitz of Oak Grove, Minn., Jonathon and (Melody) Heide of Minneapolis, Jill (Mitch) Routh of Duluth, and Julia (Paul) Rivard also of Duluth; granddaughters Heidi and Elizabeth Schmitz and Hannah Rivard; parents Marvin and Margaret Heide of Duluth; brother Kenneth Heide of Detroit Lakes, Minn., and sister Kathy (Paul) Wrazidlo of Duluth, as well as nieces Nicole and Brooke Wrazidlo, and Madison and Gabrielle Heide; and the mother of his four children, Kimberly Heide of Duluth.

Kim was proceeded in death by his beloved brother Kevin Heide and Kevin's daughter Silver Marie.

A remembrance and celebration of Kim's life will be held June 20, 11 a.m., at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 227 Third St., Two Harbors, Minn.

Following the service, Kim will be laid to rest in Two Harbor's Lakeview Cemetery, 1300 Seventh Ave.

His talents, humor and passion for life will live on through his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed by all.
