Larry Wieme

Larry Wieme, 75, of Knife River, died peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at his home after an extended illness.

Larry was born July 19, 1943 to Albert and Ethel (Bugge) Wieme in Duluth.  He grew up and was a lifelong resident of Knife River.  After graduating from Two Harbors High School, he was employed for over 36 years as a watchman aboard Great Lake’s ore boats, until retiring in 2001.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and playing cribbage.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dennis.

He is survived by a son, Tanner (Jennie) Wieme; grandchildren, Blake, Makayla, and Hailey; sisters, Kay (Paul) Struve and Paulette Sannes; a sister-in-law, Sharon Wieme; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1 PM until the 2 PM service on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Knife River Lutheran Church.
