Leslie R. "Mick" Bolen

Leslie Roger “Mick” Bolen, 86, Knife River, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Waterview Shores in Two Harbors.

Mick was born July 6, 1939 to Roger and Sylvia (Salakka) Bolen. He attended schools in Knife River and Two Harbors and was a lifelong resident of Knife River until moving to the Waterview Shores in 2016.

Mick enjoyed long walks in the woods and cherished all of God’s creatures that he came to know so well, and always had fascinating and hilarious stories to tell of his encounters with nature. He loved watching westerns, reading about history (especially regarding the Civil War), visiting with friends, and playing softball and hockey with his teammates. He maintained a special passion for sports throughout his life and treasured the friends and memories he made on and off the field.

He is survived by his many cousins and special friends. The family would like to thank the Waterview Shores and Moments Hospice for the amazing care given to Mick during his time there.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at the Knife River Rec Center. You are invited to wear your favorite sports jersey or t-shirt.
