Louise Frank

September 22, 1930 — May 27, 2015

Louise Theresa (Hatzenbuehler) Frank passed away peacefully May 27th 2015 at the age of 84 with her family by her side, at Carefree Living in Silver Bay, MN.

Louise was born September 22, 1930 in Lefor, ND to Jacob and Theresa (Seiler) Hatzenbuehler, where she also attended school.  On August 12th, 1951, she married Kasimir (Kasey) Frank, Sr.  They lived in Zap, ND for a period of time where her and Kasey owned and operated Frank’s Café.  In 1968, they moved to Silver Bay, MN, where they raised 10 kids.

Louise was involved in many organizations over the years.  She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary.  She worked for the VFW selling pulltabs at the Silver Bay Lounge, which seemed like forever according to her children and the community.  She enjoyed her Tuesday morning Mission Circle where she could share her passion for quilting and sewing.  Besides being very proud of her grandchildren, she was proud and compassionate that she was part of the “Pink Ladies”, where she volunteered thousands of hours at the Minnesota Vet’s Home.  This led to her receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award from the President of the United States.  She also enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family, playing bingo, camping, fishing, and gardening.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Kasimir “Kasey” Frank, and two sons, DeWayne and John Frank.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Jerry) Perttula, Kenny (JoDee) Frank, Kasey Jr. (Michelle) Frank, Susan (Dan) Boehm, Mike (Jodi) Frank, Theresa (Brian) Zupancich, Diane (Joe) Smullen, and Carol Hofschulte; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and her bingo buddy Abby Spies.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the awesome team at Carefree Living and Tim and Cindy from St. Mary’s Hospice Team.

Visitation will be from 10 am until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 1, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Silver Bay.  Burial will be in Silver Bay Cemetery.
