Mabel Jacobson

September 3, 1924 — July 14, 2015

Mabel Serina Jacobson, 90 of Little Marais, died Tuesday July 14, 2015 at home with her daughters at her side.

She was born September 3, 1924 to Amund and Gunhild      (Gunderson) Lintvet in Oklee, Minnesota, where she grew up and graduated from high school.  Mabel attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Library Science.  She married Roy Jacobson on October 11, 1947, and lived on a farm in Plummer before moving to Silver Bay in 1952.  Mabel worked as a bookkeeper at Jacobson Hardware for many years and was a charter member of Sychar Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband, sailing, and spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; son Lee Roy Jacobson; granddaughter, Lynea; and brother, Orlo Lintvet.

She is survived by her daughters Lyn Nell Bartyn and Julie (Scott) Runnfeldt; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matthew) Henry, Scott Bartyn, Lindsey (Daniel) Solie, and Ashley Bartyn; and a great-granddaughters, Kaileen, Adalene, and Lenaya.

The family would like to thank Essentia St. Mary’s Hospice for the excellent care they gave Mabel.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM Service on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Sychar Lutheran Church in Silver Bay. Burial will be in Silver Bay Cemetery.
