Madelyn Blaisdell, 84, of Two Harbors, died Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Waterview Shores.

Madelyn was born June 8, 1938 to Esaias and Hildegard (Eklund) Lofgren in Two Harbors, where she was a life-long resident. She graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1956 and went on to complete her nurses training at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. Madelyn worked as a registered nurse at Lakeview Memorial Hospital in Two Harbors, Lakeshore Lutheran Home in Duluth and completed her career in healthcare at Sunrise Nursing Home in Two Harbors.

 

Madelyn was a charter member of First Baptist Church in Two Harbors where she sang in the choir and assisted in the AWANA and MOPS programs.

 

Madelyn enjoyed sewing, knitting, baking and cooking. She loved entertaining friends and family at her home, where she always made sure her guests got plenty to eat. Madelyn also enjoyed shopping and had a keen eye for bargains. She made memories by traveling to Sweden and to different parts of the United States, and enjoyed camping and fishing with her family.  

 

Madelyn was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 58 years, Robert. She is survived by her sons, Dan of Sauk Rapids, MN; and Tom (Valerie) of Roswell, GA, and her beloved granddaughters, Megan and Nicole. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy (Don) Hill of Utah, and several cousins, nephews and nieces.

 

Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Two Harbors.
