Marcilyn “Andy” Anderson, 95, of Two Harbors died Sunday, September 28, 2025.
He was born on February 18, 1930, to Andy and Lydia (Larson) Anderson in Mentor, MN, one of 11 children. He did some farming before serving in the U.S. Army in Korea 1952-1953.
Andy loved nothing more than a day spent in his garden and enjoyed many bus trips across America with his wife Nody. He always had a vivid story to share, like the coin holder he still had from riding the streetcars in Duluth or the memories of sleeping on the damp ground in muggy Korea. He could even bring listeners back to the one-room schoolhouse he attended in his childhood, where many of the lessons were in French.
Andy was a lifetime member of the American Legion and Loyal Order of Moose. He was also a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He took pride in celebrating over 40 years of sobriety.
Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife, Helen; sons Michael and Lloyd; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
He is survived by his wife or 23 years, Ginnoda; sister, Nelda, children, Lynn and Laurie; step-children, Dale and Darell; Nody’s children, Gary, Larry, Michelle, Steve, Tim, Tom, and Marcie; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren who put a spark in his eye; and a large extended family.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. A luncheon will follow the service and burial with Military Honors will be at 2 PM at Lakeview Cemetery.
