Margie Giacomini

Margie Giacomini, 54, formerly of Two Harbors, died Saturday, August 6, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a battle with cancer.

Margie was born November 28, 1961 in Duluth to Frank and Carol (Johnson) Giacomini. She grew up and graduated from high school in Two Harbors, and after working in the office for the City of Two Harbors for several years, went to college to become a registered nurse.  Margie was employed at Lake View Memorial Hospital in Two Harbors and St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth before moving to Florida in 2010, to continue her nursing career and fulfill her dream, with Kim, to live near the water.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Kim Heide just 8 weeks earlier; her father, Frank; and her grandparents, Louis and Eleanor Johnson and Peter and Irma Giacomini.

She is survived by her son, Jeff of Superior; her mother, Carol Giacomini of Two Harbors; sister, Paula (Dave) Katusky of Minneapolis; brothers, Frank Giacomini Jr. of Duluth and John (Liz) Giacomini of Independence, MN; nieces and nephews, Michael, Kendal, Peter, and Isabelle; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy (Paul) Wrazidlo and Kenneth Heide; step-children, Jessica (Brian) Schmitz, Jonathon (Melody) Heide, Jill (Mitch) Routh, and Julia (Paul) Rivard; step-grandchildren, Heidi, Elizabeth, and Hannah; step-nieces, Nicole, Brooke, Madison, and Gabrielle; mother and father-in-law, Margaret and Marvin Heide; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 5 PM until the 7 PM Rosary Service on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Cavallin Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, August 11 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Two Harbors.
