Margaret “Margie” Hartshorn, 64, Finland, died on Saturday, November 21, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital due to complications of Myotonic Dystrophy.
Margie was born April 10, 1956 to Edwin and Olga (Lebak) Dahle in Two Harbors. She grew up in Little Marais, graduating from William Kelley High School. Margie married Paul Hartshorn on May 19, 1979 and together they made their home in Finland. Margie worked as a waitress, cook, and housekeeper at various restaurants and hotels until health problems led to her retirement in 2005.
Margie was a member of Baptism River Community Church and she enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Davis in 2013; a brother, Clayton (Serene) Dahle; and sisters, Carolyn (Arthur) Papillon and Linda Church.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; a son, Ryan Hartshorn; grandchildren, Hailie, Julia, Ryan Jr., and Journey; brother Edwin Dahle; brother-in-law, Darwin Church; and many nieces and nephews.
Margie’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St Luke’s Hospital, Dr. Kelsey Schultz at Lake View Clinic, and Dr. Amber Erickson and the rest of the staff at the Essentia MDA Clinic for their care over the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2021.
