Marion Sellman

June 21, 1928 — December 10, 2015

Marion Sellman, 87, of Two Harbors passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 10, 2015 with her daughters by her side.

She was born on June 21, 1928 to John and Mary Wikholm, and grew up on a farm in Wales raising sheep. After attending a one room schoolhouse in Wales, MN she graduated from high school in Two Harbors in 1946.   She married her high school sweetheart, Paul Sellman in 1948.  Marion was employed at Marshall Wells in Duluth and later at Falk’s Drug Store in Two Harbors.

Marion was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary and its drill team.  She was also a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Vasa Lodge, the Knife River Valley Club, and a Girl Scout leader for many years.

She enjoyed many years with her sewing and card clubs.  Marion loved spending time with her family and attending all the children’s events.

She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 60 years, Paul in 2008; sister, Elsa Quarn; great-granddaughters, Hope and Bailey Amesbury; and sister-in-law, Elinor Sellman.

Marion is survived by her daughters, Linda (Joe Raycraft) Olson and Wendy (Rod) Falk of Two Harbors; grandchildren, Cory (Shelly) Olson, Tera Amesbury, Vern Olson, Clay (Steph) Olson, Angie (Keith) Furman, and Tessa (Travis) Dugas ; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Marion’s niece, Deb Wittlief for all her help, and St. Mary’s Hospice, especially nurse Cindy for her care.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the 11 AM memorial service on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Two Harbors.  Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
