Marjorie Carlson

April 16, 1923 — December 1, 2014

Marge Carlson, 91, of Two Harbors died Monday, December 1, 2014 at Ecumen Scenic Shores.

She was born on April 16, 1923 to Fred and Lula (Burgin) Lamm in Monticello, MN.  Marge grew up and graduated from high school in Elk River before attending nurse’s training in Minneapolis.  Shortly after finishing nurse’s training, Marge moved to Two Harbors where she married Harold Carlson.  Marge was employed at Lakeview Memorial Hospital until her retirement.

She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, and the Hospital Auxiliary.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; grandchildren Alex and Evelyn Lieffring; brother, Donald Lamm; and sister, Laura Krenik.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Robin) Carlson of St. Paul; Suzanne (Roger) Magnuson of Hermantown; Barbara Carlson of Maplewood; Liz (Tony) Lieffring of Two Harbors and Don (Cheryl) Carlson of Pendleton, OR; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Two Harbors.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
