Mary Lee Hatch, 78, of Two Harbors, peacefully passed away March 02, 2023 in her home with her beloved dog "buddy" in her lap.
Mary was born June 13, 1944 in LaCrosse, WI to Chester and Arlene Thomason. As a child her family moved to Finland, MN. Mary later moved to Two Harbors to raise her family. In 1976 she married the love of her life Gerald "Jerry" Hatch.
Mary was known for being an amazing cook and baker. Our family favorites were her homemade dinner rolls, pumpkin bars and apple pie slices. Family gatherings will never be the same without her.
Mary cared deeply about her family and loved to spend time with them. She was a giver and genuinely cared about people, which is why she shined so bright as a caregiver.
Mary enjoyed long car rides, visits to Canal Park and casino trips with Jerry and Korey. Her happy place is the Two Harbors breakwater.
Mary is survived by her children, Kim (Steve) Moen, Janett Helgeson, Scott (Gail) Overby, daughter-in-law, Shelly (Bill) Peterson, Randy (Sandy) Hatch, Brenda (Mike) Maas, foster son Korey Black;14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 8 siblings, 2 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; son Kelley Overby; great granddaughter, Rylee; a sister; and a brother-in-law.
Visitation will be from 10 Am until the 11 AM service on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors. Lunch will follow the service.
