Michael Ulanowski

Mike Ulanowski, 58, of Two Harbors died peacefully on Monday, February 26, 2018 at his home after struggling with the loss of his wife.  He is now at peace.

He was born on December 22, 1959 to Lawrence W. and Veronica C. (Kozienski) Ulanowski in Chicago.  Mike grew up and graduated from high school in Silver Bay in 1978 before enlisting in the Air Force, where he spent the next 24 years as an avionics mechanic in the Air Force and Air Guards.  He was married to Karen Edwards in July of 1996 and together they enjoyed operating a produce stand during the summers until 2015.  Mike was a loving caretaker throughout Karen’s lengthy battle with MS.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Karen in April of 2017; father, Lawrence W.; brother, Larry.

He is survived by son, John Ulanowski; daughter, Jessica (James) Carr; son, Mike (Meghan) Ulanowski; step-daughters, Kayla Edwards and Krystal Barrick; grandchildren Ethan, Jocelyn, Paiten, Victoria Jule, Kya, and Eric III; mother, Veronica; sisters, Mary Brown (Rick) and Deb (Ed) Wu; and nieces and nephew, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Victoria, and Cassondra.

Visitation will be from 2 PM until the 3 PM service on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors.  Lunch will follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  Burial with military honors will take place at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
