Nancy Kemp, 87 of Duluth, formerly of Hovland and Edina, died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Nancy was born to Vilhelm Holand and Yerdis (Dalsveen) Holand on December 6, 1937. She graduated from St. Louis Park High School and Abbot Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing. Her first job as a nurse was in Virginia where she met her husband Clarence. They were married for over 60 years.
Early on in their marriage, they enjoyed boating, fishing, and annual ski trips with friends. She loved her grandchildren, the Northwoods Fiber Guild, and spending winters in Florida. Nancy could pack a picnic basket and always had snacks in her pocket “in case we get lost”. She was independent and capable, always making something with her hands, up for a road trip, and welcoming stray cats.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence (April 2024), and her son, Christopher in 1992.
She is survived by her children, Tara (Timothy) Clark, and Angie (Mark) Jungwirth; grandchildren, Natalie (Sam) Weyrauch, Melissa (Alex) Hintz, Brennan Clark, Benjamin (Tiffany) Jungwirth, Clara Jungwirth, and Charles Jungwirth; great-grandchildren, Chloe Weyrauch, Ella Hintz, and Leo Hintz; her brother, David (Sharon) Holand; nieces and nephews; and “The Hens”, her lifelong friends from nursing school.
Per Nancy’s wishes no services will be held.
