Peggy Johnson, 82, of Silver Bay died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at her home.

She was born on May 18, 1937 to John and Margaret (Pearson) Hedenberg in Duluth where she grew up and attended schools.  After graduating from East High School she attended Gustavus-Adolphus College in St. Peter where she met her future husband, Willard Johnson.  They were married on August 31, 1957 and they made their home in Silver Bay since 1967.  Together they owned and operated Palisade Auto Parts for 33 years.

Peggy was a member of Sychar Lutheran Church along with its choir and altar guild.  She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron and North Shore Shrine Club through the AAD Temple of the Shrine.

She enjoyed traveling, her home and yard, and time with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, Willard.

Peggy is survived by her son, John (Wendy) Johnson of Silver Bay; grandchildren Craig, Amanda, and Kelsie; a brother, John (Marion) Hedenberg; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the 1 PM Funeral Service on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Sychar Lutheran Church.  Burial will follow at Sawtooth Mountain Cemetery.
