Phyllis Jean Gangestad

Phyllis J. Gangestad, 94, Two Harbors, died Monday, October 2, 2023, at Waterview Shores.

She was born October 25, 1928, to Loren D. and Georgia (Lund) Miller in Maryville, Missouri, attended country grade school and graduated from Maryville High School in 1946.  Phyllis attended the School of Cosmetology in Maryville in 1947 and married Melvin Maurice Gangestad on April 4, 1948.  After moving to Two Harbors in 1960 she assisted Melvin and later Melvin Eugene “Gene” with the family business until she became unable when she 88. She enjoyed helping all the people and visiting with friends and customers and visited the lumber yard the week before she passed.

Phyllis is preceded in death by parents, her husband, Melvin M., and brothers, Denzil Miller, Verlin L. Miller, and Loren D. “Burl” Miller.

She is survived by her son, Melvin E. “Gene” (Sandra) of Two Harbors; her daughter, Dr. Donna Gangestad also of Two Harbors; grandchildren, Dr. Angelina (Jeff Hexter) Gangestad, Anissa (Larry) Ware, Andrew (Teather) Gangestad, Andrea (Aaren) Petersen, Amanda (Steven) Kaster; ten great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren.

Phyllis will be remembered for her faith in God, Jehovah.
