Robert E. Allar, 95, Silver Bay, died Friday, December 12, 2025 at Waterview Shores in Two Harbors.
Bob was born October 11, 1930 to Charles and Vera (Chalmers) Allar in Springbrook, Wisconsin, where he grew up, graduating from high school in Spooner. During the Korean War he served in the US Marine Corps from 1952-54. He had made his home in Silver Bay since 1956 and was employed by Reserve Mining for five years, then the US Postal Service for 29 years retiring in 1989 as Superintendent of Postal Operations.
Bob was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and was an avid sports fan, especially the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed reading.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Charlotte, Alice, and Geraldine; and brothers, Corwin, Edward, and Kenneth.
He is survived by wife of 50 years, Carol; a son, Brian (Kim) Allar; daughters, Doralee Allar and Melanie Thiesen; step-sons, Dean (Judy) Carter and Larry (Tammy) Carter; step-daughter, LeeAnn ( Mike) Johnson; brother, Vernon Allar; sister, Margaret Johnson; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from Noon until the 1PM service on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Faith Lutheran Church in Silver Bay. Burial will be in Sawtooth Mountain Cemetery. To share a memory or leave an online condolence visit www.cavallinfuneralhome.com.
