Robert Snow

Robert "Bob" Julian Snow, born April 20, 1920, in Minneapolis, MN, to Clarence & Catherine Snow, died Monday, October 4, 2010. Bob married Nancy Grace Snow in 1943 before leaving for two years in the South Pacific, serving as a Lieutenant JG in the US Navy. He was a graduate of St. Paul Central High School, the University of Minnesota, and attended Harvard University after the war. He began his career as an architect and later started his own company as a manufacturer's rep for building supplies. Bob was a member of the Harvard Club of MN, American Legion, Rotary Club of Minneapolis, Fox & Hounds Breakfast Club, Blue Sky Club, Gargoyle Club of St. Paul, and the United Ostomy Club. He was the past National Director of the Construction Specifications Institute, former owner and Chairman of the Board of Snow-Larson, Inc, former owner of Construction-Midwest, and former vice president and director of American Artstone Co. Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother; his stepmother, Iris J. Snow; his brother, Richard "Bud" G. Snow; his nephews, Frederick Kemp III and Richard "Buddy" Snow; and his niece, Catrina Grace. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his daughters, Katheryn (Bruce) Byram, Philomath, OR; Elizabeth "Betsy" Snow (Jerry Paulson), Duluth, MN; his son, Robert "Robb" (Eloise) Snow, Busby, MT; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and eleven nieces and nephews. There are no words to express the gratitude Bob's family feels for the people who cared for him these past nine years, including the staff at Benedictine Health Center, Duluth, and the Minnesota Veterans Home, Silver Bay. A memorial celebration of life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 9, 2010, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Minneapolis, MN. Friends and family will gather for a time of sharing and remembering at Forest Hill Cemetery, Duluth, MN, at 10:00 am, Monday, October 11, 2010. Committal and burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, the Alzheimer's Association, or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
