Rosalie Ann Johnson lived in Grand Marais, Minnesota and died October 12, 2019.
Rosie was born to Stanley and Florence Cukla on April 15,1954 in Thorp, WI and the family moved shortly after to East St. Paul, MN. Rosie came to Grand Portage to spend the summers as a teenager with her brother Bob and made many friends there. Rosie worked as a waitress at Ryden's Cafe and after graduating from Johnson High, moved north and became a Cook County resident. On June 27, 1992 Rosie married Bruce Johnson, they had 27 wonderful years together.
Rosie loved to travel the US and Mexico but most of all she loved camping trips at Isle Royale and catching many lake trout. Rosie will always be remembered for her generosity in many ways.
Rosie worked for the Cook County Highway Department for 15 years cutting the grass on the county roads, which she enjoyed more than anything. Unfortunately, she had to quit when she suffered a stroke in 2011. Rosie also worked as a bartender (psychiatrist) in the 90's at the American Legion with many laughs.
Rosie is survived by her brothers, Eugene (Sue), Don (Linda), Rick (Lee), and sisters, Lynne (Denny) Grossaint, Chrissy (Cully) Cullen, Sandy Cukla, and many nieces and nephews.
Rosie is preceded in death by her father Stanley, mother Florence, and brother Bob.
