Royce Ellestad, 83, died peacefully Tuesday August 16, 2016 at home.
Royce was born November 18, 1932 to Fred and Mable (Hardina) Ellestad in Britton, SD where he grew up. He enlisted in the Army and served in Korea. Royce drove truck for Two Harbors Ready Mix and later worked as a saw filer for J.C. Campbell. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. Royce enjoyed fishing with Ole and Buster on Lake Superior, taking trips to Alaska, and cooking.
Royce was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Audrey in 2001, a son, Robert “Fritz” Ellestad, a granddaughter, Tammy Lundgren; a grandson, Jamie Olson; brothers, Gordon “Buster”, John and Roger; and sister, Marilyn.
Royce is survived by his daughters, Linda (Daryl) Olson of Fairbanks, Alaska, Marie Amesbury of Dassel, MN, Ann (Tim) Gow of Plymouth, MN, Roberta (Brian) Parker of Fairbanks; sons, Larry (Vicky) Olson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Mike (Vicki) Falk of Two Harbors, Scott (Amy) Falk of Nikiski, Alaska, Stephen (Deb) Falk of Oregon, Jeffrey (Deb) Falk of Waukesha, WI, and Andrew (Joyce) Ellestad of Kenai, Alaska; many grand and great-grandchildren; brothers, Derwood (Ethel) of Havana, ND, Maynard of Britton, SD, and Don (Cathie) of Arvada, CO; sisters, Norma (Gardner) Brubakken of Two Harbors, and Joyce (Dick) Lakang of Fridley, MN; close friends Ole Svendsen and Deb Aho; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Tuesday August 23, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
