Stanley Hankiewicz, 68, Two Harbors, died Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at St.Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness

Stan was born to Tadeusz “Ted” and Katherine (Pater) Hankiewicz on April 14, 1953 in Duluth and was a lifelong resident of Two Harbors.  As a teenager he was employed at Puent’s Superette and after high school went to work for Husky Hydraulics for 12 years.  Later, he was a service maintenance manager at Serco Loaders for 28 years.

Stan was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose for 40 years.

He enjoyed fishing and charter fishing on Lake Superior with LeRoy’s Sweet Retreat, deer and partridge hunting with his grandsons, and watching his grandchildren’s activities. They were the light of his life.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Joe; brother-in-law, Glen (Renae) Hanson, and nephew, Luke Maghan.

He is survived by his wife, Barb; sons, Joshua, Jeremy, and Jason; daughter, Joette (Adam) Kubat; grandchildren, Zachery, Joseph, Cody, Alex, and Maizie; brother, Ted; sister, Mary (Lance) Randall; in-laws, Larry (Sherry) Gilbert, David (Sherri) Gilbert, and Margie Maghan; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 PM to 5 PM on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the American Legion in Two Harbors.  To share your memories or condolences online please visit
