William E. “Bill” Lind, 78, Two Harbors, died Saturday, July 4, 2026 at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Bill was born June 13, 1948 in Two Harbors to Carl and Lillian (Johanson) Lind. He grew up in Castle Danger, where he was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. Attending school in Two Harbors, he graduated in the Class of 1966. Bill was employed as a crane operator first at Abex Fiberglass, and later Reserve Mining Company. He retired in 2008 after many years as a road foreman for the Lake County Highway Department. After “retiring” he continued to work on his own as a heavy equipment operator.
Bill was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and wood-working. He faithfully followed his daughter Christy’s athletic career through high school and college, and was very proud of her.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Carl Lind; and sisters, Barbara Anderson, and Martha Pierce.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pam; daughter, Christy (Brad) Voltz; grandchildren, Ivan and Ilie Voltz; a sister, Carol Nordahl; a sister-in-law, Ginny (Digger) Mainella; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held from 2-5 PM on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Moose Lodge in Two Harbors. To share a memory or leave an online condolence visit www.cavallinfuneralhome.com.
