Alene Aho

Alene K. Aho, 74, of Two Harbors, died Monday, March 29, 2021 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Alene was born March 17, 1947 to Albert and Winifred (Kerr) Wainwright in Muskegon, Michigan, where she grew up. After high school she moved to the Twin Cities, where she worked for several years. Since her marriage to Karl Aho in 1984, she had made her home in Two Harbors. She was employed as an administrative secretary at Essentia Health for many years, and she and Karl operated Bryan House Bed and Breakfast from their home.

Alene was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed visiting with people and feeding the birds in her yard.

Alene was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Doris, Carol and Peggy; and a granddaughter, Melissa.

She is survived by her husband, Karl; a son, Rick Wainwright; step-children, Michael Aho, Andrew (Lisa) Aho, Sara (Gordon) Lukkonen, and Joanne (Corey) Emig; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren;  a sister, Nancy Hanes; brothers, James and William Wainwright; and many nieces and nephews.
