Obituary

Ann Zastera, 91, Two Harbors, died on Thursday, September 30, 2021 in Miller Dwan Medical Center.

Ann was born September 5, 1930 to Irvin and Esther (McDonald) Inman in Chanute, Kansas but grew up and attended school in Lousville, Nebraska. Ann married Joseph Zastera on June 18, 1950 in Louisville, and in 1956 Joe and Ann moved to Two Harbors.  A few years later they purchased Falk's Pharmacy and Ann and Joe worked side by side until their retirement in 1988. 

Following her retirement, Ann became active in the Lake County Historical Society, serving many years as President.  She was instrumental in turning the Two Harbors Lighthouse into a B&B and organizing the retail space for the Historical Society at its sites.

Ann was a member of the United Church and many of its church circles, spent many years as Treasurer of Palisade Park Homeowners Association, and was active in the PTA when her children were younger.

She enjoyed her Thursday Bridge group.  Ann made many pairs of fleece mittens, donating them to different organizations.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe in 2010; and her daughter, Carolyn in July of this year.

She is survived by a daughter, Jody; son, Frank & Julie; grandchildren, Jason & Cori Zastera, Liita & Noah Gagnon, Holly & Wayne Osberg, Jennifer & Adam Kuhlman, Dan & Stephanie Krisak, and Nathan & Kristen Krisak; 5 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and cousins, Judy & Bill Reber and Susan & Tony Villasana;

In accordance with Ann’s wishes, private family services will be held.
