Two Harbors

Barbara A. Lugeanbeal, 78, Two Harbors, died Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Lake View Memorial Hospital.

Barbara was born August 22, 1941 the only child of George and Mary Ellen (Manock) Lugeanbeal in East Peoria, Illinois.  Barb was a dancer at a young age and added swimming in high school. She was also a member of the National Honor Society.  After graduating from East Peoria HS, she attended and graduated from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. She taught math in Herscher, Illinois, before moving to the North Shore in the early 1970’s  as a young lady.   She was employed as a high school math teacher in Silver Bay and later Two Harbors. Some of her highest achieving students went on to outstanding careers in mathematics and technology.

She enjoyed farming, flower gardening, snowshoeing, and watching the eagles and other wildlife.  She loved Minnesota and the farm her parents had near Guthrie and Cass Lake. She knew how to put on a fine walleye dinner. She shared news about Lake Superior and the ship traffic. She kept abreast of family news as much as she could and would pass it on.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by several cousins and their families and many friends.

A Gathering of family and friends and a Celebration of Barb’s Life will be held from 1 PM to 3 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors.
