Charles William Schroeder, 89, of Two Harbors died on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

He was born to Bill and Louise (Albright) Schroeder on December 22, 1930 on the family farm in Ada, Minnesota, and attended school in Green Meadow Township. After school he worked on the family farm for 4 years. He married Donna Jean Mottleberg on November 28, 1950, and in 1953 they moved to Two Harbors. Charlie was employed by the D M & I R Railroad, Reserve Mining Company, Abex Corporation, Milt Larson’s NorthShore Steel, and lastly Lake Superior School District as a custodian for 13 years.

Charlie was a member of Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, Bible study group, and had served on various church boards.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna in 2015 just four months before their 65th anniversary.

Charles is survived by children, Rosita Lindgren of Fargo, ND, Pam (Sven) Bergerson of Two Harbors, and  Rob (Lori) Schroeder of Two Harbors; grandchildren, Erick (Amy), Ryan (Sandy), John, Casey (Kristin), Christina, and Jake (Ariel); 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a special  friend, Lucille Hansen; a brother, Duwayne Schroeder; and a sister, Idella Hendrickson.

Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors.  Private services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
