Darlene Larson, 80, formerly of Two Harbors and Silver Bay died unexpectedly Wednesday,

August 4, 2021 in Bullhead City, Arizona, where she has called home for the past 25 years.

She was born to Jess Dewey and Alice Wieten on September 2nd 1940 in Sandusky Ohio, where she lived until she was 5. The Dewey family moved to Minnesota in 1945, where they made Two Harbors their permanent home.

Darlene attended THHS and was a graduate of the class of 1958. Darlene was a homemaker, mom, grandma, great grandma, worked various jobs like housekeeper and hostess at Blackwoods. She had been a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

She met the love of her life Donald Larson on a blind date, and married him less than a year later, on October 19th, 1963. They moved to Silver Bay in 1964 and raised their family of 4 children there. When Reserve closed, they moved to the Twin Cities and Pipestone managing apartment buildings, before eventually moving to Two Harbors until Don's retirement from Northshore Mining. They then made Bullhead City their home where they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary shortly before Don passed away. They called each other "Honey Larson" through it all. Dar enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, and crafting, reading crime novels, playing cards with Don, family and friends. She enjoyed puzzles and a crossword or word search was never too far from her hands.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-mother Eleanor "Red" Dewey; her husband Donald in 2018; and her beloved granddaughter, Amanda (Mandi) Bjork in 2021.

Darlene is survived by her children, Gene Larson (Yvonne) and Scott Larson, of Duluth, Kimberly Bjork (Todd) of Embarrass, and Donna Tokarczyk (Mike) of Two Harbors; her beloved grandchildren, Nickie, Jina, Jason, Justin, Heather, Shantae, Nick, Missy, Jasmin, and Jossy; and 15great grandchildren. She is also survived by her 4 siblings; Linda, Diane, Suzie and Shaun.
