Donald W. Lieffring, 84, Two Harbors, died Sunday, November 3, 2019 in St. Luke’s Hospital.

Don was born February 24, 1935 to Laurence and Ethel (Schafer) Lieffring in Elmwood, Wisconsin. His first years were spent on a farm in Eau Galle, Wi until the family moved to Cumberland, Wi where he graduated from high school. He first met Marlene Hill at a dance in Indian Creek. They were married October 1,1955 in Cumberland, Wi and enjoyed a reception and wedding dance at the hall in Indian Creek. Finishing the job there, Don moved the family to Superior and went to work on the Blatnik Bridge between Duluth and Superior. In 1960 the family moved to Two Harbors, and Don went to work as a millwright for the taconite plant in Silver Bay. Don then joined Carpenters-Millwrights Local #361 in Duluth and worked several construction jobs in many locations including Rhinelander, Stevens Point, Park Falls, WI, and Rockford, IL. Wanting to work closer to home he began working for Duluth Superior Erection Company in 1973 until his retirement in 1998.
